Drumchapel Table Tennis Club and Sports Centre - Financial Donation

Skyform Group has been a proud sponsor of the Drumchapel Table Tennis Club in Glasgow for many years. It is one of the largest Table Tennis clubs in the UK, providing both facilities and coaching for all ages and abilities. The club currently hosts over 500 members per week.

In December 2023, the Managing Director of Skyform attended the club to present the Head Coach and Founder, Terry McLernon MBE, with a cheque for £10,000 to support their good work and to assist in future community development.

The club has also been able to take part in regional, national and international tournaments with Skyform’s support, which included the provision of a 10-Seater minibus to transport the club members to the tournament locations. Skyform also sponsor the club members uniforms, which has our logo on the front.

Charitable Donations and Fundraising

Skyform regularly take the opportunity to give back to our local communities, through the support of local food banks, general volunteering and through the creation new employment opportunities with each contract award.   Every year, Skyform select a mix of local and national charities to support with a financial donation.

In December 2023 and December 2024, Skyform donated to The Kings Community Foundation in Aberdeen, Community Food Inititiatives North East (C-Fine) – Aberdeen Food Bank, The Drumchapel Table Tennis Club in Glasgow and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Drumchapel Table Tennis Club & Sport Centre Refurbishment

In recognition of our assistance over the years, the sports centre has been re-named as the “Skyform Halls”

Skyform have enjoyed a close affiliation with the Drumchapel Sports Centre, a registered charity, for more than 20 years. We have played an important role in maintaining both internal and external areas of the facility, and even assisting with transport with our 10-seater minibus.

Skyform met the cost of the refurbishment, including:

  •  Installation of Large Viewing Window between hall and canteen

  • Installation of smaller windows x 18

  • Installation of External Wall Insulation to building façade

  • Installation of new door and platform system

  • Installation of new electric roller shutter security door

Drumchapel Table Tennis Club - Roofing Liquid Plastics Waterproofing

Skyform completed works at the facility which comprised a refurbishment to the 237m² flat roof above the front entrance. We were able to provide a robust solution owing to our status as a Sika Liquid Plastics approved installer. We also ensured our proposal complied with an energy efficient assessment from Zero Waste Scotland.

The works included:

  •  Stripping-off and disposing existing build up.

  • Cleaning and applying bio wash.

  • Making good timbers and installing Decotrim water checks.

  • Applying primer and laying S/Vap 5000 E SA.

  • Applying 130mm insulation to existing roof falls.

  • Application of Sikalastics 625 with top coat finish, including “Reemat” premium reinforcement and detail areas.

Following successful completion of the works, to both the client’s and Sika’s satisfaction, Skyform have now been invited to tender for similar works to the same facility’s larger pitched roof, again in conjunction with Sika.
